A chilly weekend at Horton in Ribblesdale.
We arrived on Friday, and after fortifying ourselves in the local
hostelry, set off on a circular walk to Pen-y-Ghent.
      Length 10 km (6 miles) - Ascent 500 metres (1600 feet).
Friday night was cold. It was about -5 degrees C and we awoke to a hard
frost. The dogs' water bowls had frozen solid overnight.
We breakfasted at the Pen y Ghent cafe on Saturday, climbed Ingleborough and then had a circular walk via
Gaping Gill and Ingleborough Cave back to Horton.
      Length 22 km (14 miles) - Ascent 800 metres (2600 feet).
On Sunday we packed up and went home via Malham Cove.
